Job Site Recycling: Lansing Island Custom Green Home

 Recycling efforts are in full force at Balda Development & Construction's Lansing Island Custom Green Home job site.  Materials being recycled include: wood, metals, cardboard, plastic bottles, and aluminum cans.  These materials will go on to produce new bottles, paper, mulch, and metals.  Job site recycling is just one of the aspects that will go towards the home's Florida Green Home Certification.  Because of this recycling effort, the dumpster is rarely used and has only been emptied once since the project began in July.  This not only reduces the amount of material going in the landfill, but also reduces disposal costs for the company.  In addition to these recycling efforts, unused materials will be donated to Habitat for Humanity Restore Center for use on their future projects.
